Looking back at the Modernising Criminal Justice (MCJ) 2026 we have to aknowledge how fantastic it’s been to (re-)connect with so many professionals, dedicated to improving the justice system. During the event, we hosted a session that addressed the embracing of fast, practical upgrades to everyday workflows.
In its core, our presentation, “Drop-in Improvements: Fixing Justice Processes One at a Time,” focused on how organisations can fix broken processes right now without touching or replacing their main national IT systems.

The highlight of the presentation was showing how justice organisations can modernise one process at a time without replacing national systems. National systems were built for yesterday’s processes, meaning today’s real work happens in the spaces between them using spreadsheets, email chains, and paper forms. Instead of forcing teams to choose between a massive five-year programme or another temporary workaround, we introduced a third path: bounded improvement on a governed platform. By using the Casedoc platform as a secure foundation, teams can deploy flexible, specific tools to fix workflows in just days while keeping strict security and tracking completely locked down.
Case Studies: The 90-Day Pilot Playbook
We proved this approach works by sharing three real-world projects from our 90-Day Pilot Playbook:
International Court: Moved from fragmented email chains and spreadsheets to one shared case view with role-specific dashboards.
National Prison Authority: Replaced local Excel lists and radio chatter with automated intake and common workflows.
Iceland Government AI: Created an AI governance wrapper that logs every single prompt, output, and decision against the case file so teams know exactly where trust lives
